Mattie – Border Collie, CRN 061105
Mattie or “Mattie Pattie” as she is affectionately called by those who know her best, began racing in 2005. She quickly became an essential part of the team racking up almost 42,000 points in just 7 years of racing. Although she was able to run in any position, Mattie was infamous in her role as anchor dog as she knew exactly what she had to do to win the heat. With her charismatic growl and shake of her head as she would cross that finish line first, Mattie loved what she did. Mattie has helped to bring up many green dogs on two clubs over the years and her accomplishment of Flyball Grand Champion in 2012 was felt around the region as Mattie and her owner Christine Heckman are very special to many of us. Mattie is currently the #2 Border Collie in the region and through dedication and determination has competed in a grand total of 153 tournaments in her career. Although mostly retired, Mattie will be on the lanes this fall to earn her title as Iron Dog and complete her incredible and unforgettable flyball career.
