Clarabelle Tailfeathers – Australian Shepherd, CRN 100071
Bella is the heart & soul of the Tail Blazers! She races in any position, for anyone (with treats!), at any time, with a huge smile on her face and the “flyball high” in her eyes. She has taught many green handlers the art of racing and helped all our green dogs learn the joy of flyball. Her Mom, Nancy, started helping out at tournaments before she ever thought of having a flyball dog. When Bella was adopted, she showed an obvious love for running and jumping and learned her box turn quickly. But retrieving a ball just didn’t seem to interest her. With patience and some trial & error, Nancy taught her that bringing the ball back was so rewarding that, now, even if she bobbles, she always gets her ball! Over the years, Bella has raced Open with many Division 7 teams, including Barnstormers, Jet City, Puget Hounds, Stumptown, Cascade Comets and X-Fidos. Now 11 years old and battling cancer, she continues to anchor our team — running full time and setting personal bests. She became a Flyball Grand Champion in 2015. She is an amazing girl and is most definitely our MVP.
