Bailey, American Eskimo, CRN 021162
I would like to nominate Bailey from Double Dog Dare for Region 14 MVP. Bailey is “THe Ultimate Rescue
Dog”. Bailey was hit by a car and brought to The Iowa State Vet School by his owners. His pelvis was
shattered and required putting in pieces of metal to hold him together. When his owners were called and
told the cost of the surgery, they abandoned him and Bailey was left to recover “On His Own”. His life was
now in question until a Vet student, Angie Maxted stepped in and saved Bailey’s life. An obedience
instructor saw his interest in tennis balls and steared Angie toward Flyball. He started with Cyclone Flyers
and then to All Ruffed Up in Iowa. Bailey could run for anyone and proved it time and time again. When
Angie moved to Georgia, she and Bailey helped get Double Dog Dare going. Bailey has helped train
numerous dogs. He may not have been the fastest height dog but what he did was “Run With Heart”.
Bailey’s last race was at The DDD Dawg Derby in July 2009 coming in 1st Place on his Vets Team. Not a
bad finish to a not so good start.
