Jeter – Border Collie, CRN 040735
Jeter has been racing on the Weston Whirlwinds for 8 years and while not one of the fastest dogs he is a solid dog and serves a very important purpose for our team and the sport as a whole. Jeter is an excellent training dog. He is used to help train new dogs and handlers due to the nature of his calm personality and solid understanding of flyball. This is been especially true this year where he has helped train several new dogs on our team as they learn passing and running against competition in the other lane. Most importantly he has helped train several new junior handlers. He is wonderful with children and just loves running for them and they love handling him because he is so gentle with them and just does his job. In this past year alone Jeter has had 5 different junior handlers run him at various tournaments helping ensure the future of our sport is secure as he shows them how fun running a dog and playing flyball can be. Jeter has earned over 30,000 points to date and continues to run primarily in Veterans but also on a regular team when needed.
