Celtic Mayhem nominates Iron Dog FGDCH Joey, lovingly known as ‘Joey Long Legs’ by most all who know him, for 2017’s Region 11 MVP. Joey began his career with KETCH THIS in September 2006 when Debbie Hedrick adopted this little pup listed as a beagle. His success with the game was questionable in those early days as Joey’s nose lead him on numerous jaunts around the building shopping for treats. As time passed and Joey grew, it became clear that this ‘beagle’ was no beagle. His crafty nosework, long legs and resounding deep bark depicted his inner hound and ‘Joey Long Legs’ was born! Joey has continued to play with Celtic Mayhem since 2013. He has taught a multitude of new handlers and pups the joy of flyball. For many years, Joey ran on our ‘green dog’ teams as the solid, consistent model necessary for the next generation to learn the game correctly. He has run with at least five other clubs when they’ve needed to round out an Open team with a dog they could count on. Although a veteran now, Joey proudly makes his presence known the minute he hits the lanes with his loud, deep MVP “WOOF’!
