Phantom, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, CRN 060601
Tempest F4 Fighting “Phantom” is a 6 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier who races on Heat Wave. Phantom is a fighter; having fought off a severe case of Valley Fever that he caught at 6 months of age. He has become a favorite of region 6 racers with his black facial mask, throaty bark, and special “squishy” tennis balls. Phantom is handled by his owner, Alisa, who generally sports bruises from his over-enthusiasm for the sport. Over the past few years he has been a strong height dog for Heat Wave, giving 100% effort every heat of every race. Lately, Phantom has found a new calling, assisting clubs who are short a dog or need a height dog in order to compete. He recently double ran on his own team and an open team on Saturday and then moved to a performance team and the open team on Sunday. Phantom has raced on different styles of boxes, in various positions in lineups, and with numerous dogs that he’d never met before setting foot in the racing lanes with them. With Phantom’s assistance, more dogs get to compete and have fun and, truly, isn’t that why we all race?
Nominated by Heat Wave.
