Rufus, mix, CRN 021404
Rufus has been an integral part of Go Dog Go! since running in the club’s first tournament back in 2001. As
a puppy, Rufus was abandoned at a local animal hospital because he had parvo and mange. Rescued by
his mom, Tanisha, Rufus grew to be a happy-go-lucky dog. Rufus is not a particularly speedy dog and he
doesn’t have a ton of points but he has always been consistent. He will always complete the run no matter
what, unless his dad, Kyle, is in the ring as a box judge, line judge, or head judge, in which case he must
say “hi!” just once. Because he can run in any position and with any dog, he has been a perfect training
partner for new dogs as they are learning the sport.
In 2006, Rufus was elected Spokesdog of the year for Durham Animal Protective Society in Durham, NC.
He is his well-known and loved by the flyball community and others for his friendly nature and enthusiasm.
He is a great ambassador for the sport.
