PDQ – Rat Terrier, CRN 050823
Chattanooga Chomp was formed in 2004. They had tons of enthusiasm, great dogs, and lots of support from region 14. They just had one problem: they had no height dog. The club was about to fold after struggling at 16″ for a few tournaments. A chance meeting between Be Hudson and a 14 pound parasite ridden Rat Terrier would change all that. Be Hudson named her little rescue PDQ and though his start was rocky, he was racing in the lanes in less than a year. The charming little dynamo graciously set the jumps down to 9″, even though he physically jumped much higher than that with his characteristic high flying hop. Although it took him almost a year to go from FD to FDX, by 2009 he became the Chomp’s first ONYX dog and earned his FGDCh on April 30, 2011. Sadly, he went to the bridge way too young on December 28, 2011. The CHOMP is now a cornerstone of Region 14, hosting 2 tournaments a year and supporting regional tournaments year round. Had it not been for little PDQ, the entire club would have folded. I really can’t think of a better definition of an MVP dog.
