Pepper Jack, Border Collie, CRN 010692
The Gavin family of Madison, WI walked into my life 9 years ago with a very energetic border collie that I knew would be something very special. Pepper had such a drive, I couldn’t resist but to ask the family to join the Flyball team. Pepper has competed in tournaments from Michigan to Colorado and was able to run in any position, with any dogs, on any team, and for anyone. Anyone who was at a tournament with Pepper would always comment on the yellow ball, Wilson, which he would pop up in the air when he was finished running like a seal in the circus.
Unfortunately, in February of this year, Pepper Jack passed away. The passing of Pepper was not only hard on the Gavin family, but felt from his Flyball family across the United States. Words cannot describe what a wonderful dog Pepper was during Flyball and outside of Flyball. I know that while our team is racing today, Pepper is watching us from the Rainbow Bridge, barking and cheering the rest of his team members along. For the reasons above, I feel Pepper Jack should be nominated as the Regional MVP.
