TOBY – Labrador Retriever, CRN 110664
Froth on the mats, a spit trail on the box, and deafening barking can only mean one thing–TOBY is in the ring! Not your typical flyball dog, TOBY is a 7-year-old Chocolate Labrador Retriever best described as a “Jekyll and Hyde.” Outside of flyball, he is mild-mannered and easygoing, but in the flyball ring he is a madman. TOBY is a tremendous asset and can handle anything thrown at him. He helps train beginner dogs, can pass with any dog, can run in any position, and can be run by multiple different handlers. TOBY’s favorite handler, though, is his >70-year-old dad with whom he ran his fastest time of 4.00 seconds (with a 3.94 line-to-line). As of the end of the 2016 racing year, TOBY was also the start dog on Alaska Dogs Gone Wild’s record runs for Regular, Multibreed, and Open. TOBY’s large presence, not only within ADGW but in every Region 18 tourney, makes him distinctly qualified for our regional MVP award.
